Q100485: Multi-GPU support for Nuke
Warning: This article contains links to external websites
SUMMARY
This article will provide more information about Multi-GPU support in Nuke.
MORE INFORMATION
Our documentation specifies that Multi-GPU processing is available for Windows, macOS and Linux for identical GPUs in the same machine (for example two NVIDIA Quadro K4200s or two AMD FirePro W9100s). However, Nuke will recognise whether you have more than two identical GPUs and will allow you to use all of them.
For example, a machine with three NVidia Quadro K4200 cards will show the following when a ZDefocus node is created:
Nuke is not currently tested against setups with more than two GPUs meaning that Multi-GPU processing in Nuke is supported for machines with two identical GPUs only.
PLEASE NOTE: We are aware of an issue affecting machines with three identical graphics cards and have also logged the following bug in which creating a ZDefocus node, with GPU acceleration enabled, on a machine with three identical GPUs will cause Nuke to crash:
This behaviour changed between Nuke 11.1v5 and Nuke 11.2v1 but, as mentioned above, the use of more than 2 GPUs has never been officially supported.
The above bug is now being actively worked on by our engineering team and you can follow the progress of this bug by clicking the ‘Follow’ button at the URL above.
