Q100504: Project opened without the populating palettes of the selected object
Warning: This article contains links to external websites
SYMPTOMS
When opening an existing project in Mari 4.5v1, the NodeGraph, Shaders, Channels and Layers Palettes may seem to be non active regardless of the object selection in the Objects Palette. The Palettes appear to be empty even though there are still textures on the actual model.
This is resulting in the inability to create or change the Shaders, Channels or Layers. Furthermore, the NodeGraph seems to be locked. The following image illustrates how the non-active palettes appear even though the object has been selected:
CAUSE
This issue occurs occasionally and it is mainly caused by a Converting Layers dialog that may appear on project open. An example of the Converting Layers dialog is shown below:
This dialog is displayed when transferring a project from any version of Mari to Mari 4.5v1 but may also appear when opening a 4.5v1 project.
RESOLUTION
We are currently aware of the existence of this issue and have it logged with the engineers under the following bug report:
TP 370320 - Project Opens Without the Current Object Populating Palettes
Currently, there are two available workarounds for this problem:
- Creating a locator and switching back to the previous object reloads the NodeGraph and the palettes. The locator is situated in the Objects Palette shown below:
- Reopening the project in Mari 4.5v1 resolves the issue as well.
