Mari 5 switched methods on how to interface with your tablet peripheral from the legacy WinTab to Windows Ink. However some undesirable behaviours were observed under Windows Ink. Mari shortcuts now force all tablet interactions to be interfaced through WinTab. For users that require pressure sensitivity across the Remote Desktop Protocol, a Window Ink desktop shortcut is now included to force tablet interactions to be interfaced through Windows Ink.
ID 485712 - Using Geo Channels with the included ACES color config would cause performance issues with canvas rendering.
ID 494962 - Procedural color swatches in the layer/node properties UI could display differently than the color seen in the Canvas.
ID 497865 - In certain conditions the wrong input colour-space could be used in the View Transform which could lead to incorrect colours in the Canvas.
ID 495230 - Bake Points would appear red as out-of-date state occasionally even when they are up to date.
ID 497001 - Bake Points would update their states incorrectly when opening an existing Project if their upstream nodes contain other Bake Points.
ID 494738 - The Canvas could temporarily display a Render Error out while the shader is processing, rather than just showing the progress wheel.
ID 494813 - When the environment variable MARI_MATERIAL_INGEST_PRESETS_SEARCHPATHS
is set, the Material Ingest Tool fails to launch.
ID 495901 - Mari could intermittently crash when importing a large UDIM sequence into a Project.
ID 494369 - Mari could intermittently crash on launch when loading Shelf thumbnails from disk.
ID 497445 - Mari could intermittently crash after extracting a Project Archive.
ID 496275 - Reordering Layers could intermittently freeze Mari.
ID 495113 - Menus would not show up if Mari is fullscreen on high resolution monitors on the Windows OS.
ID 495127 - Projecting images from a Projector when there is existing paint in the Paint Buffer would cause Mari's window to go black.
ID 494971 - Using the help button in the Script Console palette would not launch any developer documentation.
ID 497004 - A custom Environment Light image would not show its thumbnail correctly.
ID 496598 - Property sliders would move towards their original position after adjustment if Bake Point nodes were present in the network.
ID 496024 - When creating a new Multi-Channel Bake Point node, Mari would slow down and UI glitches were visible in the Node Graph.
ID 497210 - Dragging and dropping multiple images from the Image Manager palette to the Node Graph palette would only create one tiled node instead of one per image.
ID 496113 - Loading a geometry with negative UV would cause Mari's window to go black after displaying the warning window.
ID 496955 - Painting repeated strokes would cause artefacts to appear in areas of the Paint Buffer that already had paint.
ID 498315 - The Eraser tool would not erase paint from the Paint Buffer correctly.
ID 499779 - Shelf images could no longer be dragged and dropped onto the Canvas to be used as the Paint Through tool's texture.
ID 499224 - Moving a mouse cursor would create internal redundant items in memory reducing performance slightly.
ID 498801 - Mari would crash occasionally when launched on Windows due to the initialisation timing of some core Mari systems.
ID 501100 - The loading of Shelf thumbnail images on background threads would intermittently cause Mari to crash on launch.
ID 496657 - Python API now has the ImageMimeDataInfo
class to query the contents of Mari/MriImage

ID 494883 - Windows Only - When making very short, low pressure brush strokes using a tablet, the first touch of the pen to the Canvas registers as a full pressure click. This issue is a side effect of Windows Ink settings.
ID 501413 - Switching the environment light when a palette is maximised, causes Mari to crash when the maximised palette is minimised to bring up the Canvas.
ID 483855 - When Mari is launched with Administrator Privileges, you are unable to Drag and Drop items from Windows Explorer into Mari.
NOTE: Mari increases its level of performance with newer, more advanced hardware configurations. However, Mari is tested and capable of operating on many older, prior-generation systems. For this reason we are listing below-minimum requirements, which are recommended, and on which tests have been performed. Your particular needs may vary from that of other users.
Linux Desktop Managers: Mari is officially tested on GNOME and MATE. While it generally performs well on other desktop managers like KDE, most of our bug fixes will target those specified above. Some desktop managers like XFCE have not been tested with Mari and therefore will not be supported.
*Displacement preview is currently only available on the cards and drivers that support OpenGL 4.0 or newer.
*The use of virtual memory improves stability and helps prevent data loss on large projects.
'Recommended' does not guarantee that it meets your particular needs.
The configurations listed below are those that Foundry have tested with Mari. Due to the constantly changing nature and wide variety of computer hardware available in the market, Foundry is unable to officially certify hardware. The list below can be used as a recommendation and does not guarantee that it meets your particular needs.
