Light Tags
You can use the Colorway Kit to add Colorway light tags to lights in Modo. When the file is exported and opened in Colorway, the tagged lights are selectable for use in Colorway.
Tagging a Light
You can add a Colorway Light tag to a light in your Modo project in the Render layout's Colorway panel, or in the Colorway viewport. For information on using the Colorway viewport, see Tagging Objects in the Colorway Viewport.
To tag lights in the Render layout:
1. | Select the light you want to tag from the Item List to the right of the Render preview. |
2. | Click Colorway on the toolbar to open the Colorway menu. |
3. | Click Tag Selected Lights. |
The light is then highlighted to show that it has been tagged.
When you have the tagged light selected, the Tag Selected Light option in the Colorway menu toggles to Untag Selected Light.
Tagging Group Lights
When you have a group of lights in Modo, you can tag the light group to be one selectable part in Colorway. You can create a light group using either of the following methods:
• Select multiple lights from the Item List using Shift and/or Ctrl/Cmd and then press New Group in the Groups viewport to the right of the Item List. A dialog appears allowing you to enter a group Name, Type, and Mode. After setting these, click OK. A group is created with the selected lights in it.
OR
• Press New Group in the Groups viewport to the right of the Item List. A dialog appears allowing you to enter a group Name, Type, and Mode. After setting these, click OK. A new empty group is created. Select individual or multiple lights, and drag them into your new group.
Note: The Groups viewport may not be visible by default. To open it, click the + button at the top-right of the panel, next to the tab names. Then select Utility > Groups from the dropdown.
To tag a light group, do the following:
1. | Click Colorway on the toolbar to open the Colorway menu. |
2. | Select the light group you want to tag from the Light Group dropdown. |
3. | After selecting the required light group, click Tag Light Group. The group is now tagged for Colorway, and the option toggles to Untag Light Group. |
Tagging All Lights
To tag all the lights in your Modo project for Colorway, select Colorway > Tag All Lights.
Tagging Environment Light
You can choose to tag an environment light by simply selecting Tag Environment from the Colorway menu. After this is selected, it toggles to Untag Environment.
Untagging Lights
You can untag lights by either:
• Selecting the required lights from the Item List, and then selecting Colorway > Untag Selected Lights.
OR
• Selecting Colorway > Remove All Light Tags.
This removes all the light tags including from lights that are not currently selected.
Note: The light tagging and untagging options are also available from the main menu bar in Render > Colorway.
