Part Tags
You can use the Colorway Kit to add Colorway part tags to objects in C4D. When the file is exported and opened in Colorway, the tagged parts are selectable for editing in Colorway.
Tagging a Part
You can tag a part in your C4D project to be selectable in Colorway, by doing the following:
1. | Select the part you want to tag in the Projects panel. |
2. | Select the Tags tab by clicking on it. |
3. | Select ColorwayKit Tags > Colorway Part. |
This displays a small Colorway icon next to the part showing that it has been tagged. The tagged part is then selectable in Colorway when the project is imported.
Part Parameters and Options
When you add a Colorway part tag, to a part in C4D, you are presented with some parameters. To view the parameters, select the part in the Projects panel; the parameters are displayed beneath the Projects panel. Ensure the Colorway Part tab is selected.
Part Name
You can enter a name for your tagged part by typing it in the Part Name text field. This name is then used in Colorway. If this is left blank, the name of the object that the tag is assigned to is used.
All objects with the same part name are merged into a single part in Colorway.
Note: If you want to be able to edit an individual object in Colorway, ensure the object in C4D has a different name or part name so it remains as an individual part.
Select Objects
Clicking this button selects all the objects that have the same Part Name, and are therefore in the same group.
Select Untagged Objects
You can select Plugins > Colorway - Select Untagged Objects to select any objects in your C4D project that don’t have either a Colorway part tag or a Colorway light tag.
Marking and Un-marking Materials for Colorway
You can use the controls in the Plugins menu to automatically mark or un-mark materials to create parts in Colorway when you export your project.
